4 Interesting Projects from 2024

Our Texas Rock Milling team gets called on for all sorts of exciting projects—and that’s one of our favorite parts about the work we get to do. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of being part of some pretty cool projects, including working on the site of the first-ever Tesla roof in San Antonio.

As we approach the end of another full year, we wanted to take some time to reflect on some of the great projects Texas Rock Milling has had the joy of being part of in 2024. It’s always an honor to be the first one on a job to start it out right. We truly get to tame the terrain all around us and transform it into something that serves our clients well.

Check out these four interesting projects from this year to see our work in action. Who knows? You might even see a type of project you didn’t know we could help you complete!

Here are four interesting projects we were a part of in 2024:

1) ACCESS FOR DEER FEEDERS

The problem: a landowner (and avid hunter) needed to find a better way to access his deer feeders. Trying to travel across rough terrain with his ATV was causing the tires to get torn up.

Our team came in to save the day so that this client could enjoy his land to the fullest. We leveled out the land to create new roads that would allow him to refill his deer feeders whenever needed. On top of that, we also refurbished existing roads on the property. Now, this hunter is able to travel around his property with ease.

2) LEVELING A HORSE ARENA

Our client needed professional help leveling the site of a horse arena so that the horses and owners at this property can walk and ride with optimal comfort.

Level terrain is key for ensuring that a horse can perform at their best and avoid injury. That’s why our team got to work milling the surface rock so the arena would be the perfect location for both horses and humans to stretch their legs.

Texas is home to the largest population of horses in the country, and we are glad to play a role in giving them a safe place to roam!

3) RETAIL SHOP IN BULVERDE, TX

With Christmas right around the corner, it seems appropriate to celebrate that one of our top projects for 2024 was a commercial job creating the foundation for a retail shop! We got to work at the Bulverde Green Plaza in Bulverde, TX.

Our team skillfully created this pad, cutting 6 feet deep and producing over 4,000 cubic yards of reusable material in the process!

Next year, we hope that many people living in Bulverde will be able to enjoy the fruits of our labor when they shop here for their presents or grab a bite to eat to refuel before they finish last-minute errands. As always, one of the most rewarding aspects of our work is getting to see people enjoy the spaces we help lay the foundation for.

4) SWIMMING POOL FOR CONDOS

For this job, we were at the epicenter of excavation on the north side of San Antonio. Our team crushed these piles of rock to create the perfect location for a pool.

Our state-of-the-art IronWolf Miller made quick work of this project by crushing obstacles down to many sizes for repurposing. This machine works great when you want fine-tuned control over the resources you’re producing, because it allows you to change the size of material that is created by adjusting RPMs, depth of cut and pace of excavation.

Having the right tools is a big part of how we bring superior savings to our customers.

These piles were repurposed to meet several needs of the landowner for the site of future condominiums.
