ROCK MILLING

The terrain in the South Texas Hill Country has many challenges from endless trees, large rocks, and uneven land. It’s these obstacles that also give it a raw beauty that rightfully attracts many to make their homes here.

You’d be hard-pressed to find a portion of land not riddled with rocks. Trying to build in this area requires addressing these barriers first. Excavators will remove these rocks, but paying for the haul-off and importation of new materials can be costly.

That’s where we come in.

Turning Obstacles into Assets

We noticed that a large portion of resources went to hauling off these so-called barriers, which is why we decided to do things differently. Rather than add the expense of hauling off and importing materials, we use our state-of-the-art milling equipment to create usable material out of the existing rock.

Our IronWolf Crusher 1000 Series can do it all from asphalt recycling to material processing to mining and material production. The material created from the rock can be used for the foundation of a build, grading to prevent erosion, and the base for your new road. And we can create mulch for landscaping from the land-clearing materials.

It’s the best of both worlds by minimizing your cost and reusing your existing material so that your obstacles become an asset to your project.

How Does Rock Milling Work?

We’ll take your rugged piece of land and tame the elements to clear the way for your build. We do this by removing obstacles like rocks, trees, stumps, and brush.

Traditionally, excavators would come in and loosen the rock from the soil and then load it onto a truck to haul it away. Depending on the size of the boulder, they would break it up by hammering it into smaller parts before hauling it.

At Texas Rock Milling, we use our rock milling equipment as well as an excavator to clear the land and create usable material. That means we remove the rock obstacle and crush it into a usable material all in one process (no hauling-away required). Our rock milling machines and excavators work together to break down the rock and create a level surface that is ready for building.

We use top-of-the-line equipment including the FAE Rock Crusher, IronWolf Crusher 1000 Series, and the IronWolf Crusher 800 Series. There isn’t an obstacle we can’t handle with this lineup of tools at our disposal.

We understand that building in the Hill Country can be a challenge, but we have the expertise to help you tame the terrain. Our team can handle any size project, from private house lots to commercial projects.
